This beach is located in an urban area of Los Alcázares. It is approximately 1km long and 30m wide. The sand is grey and very fine with the beach gently sloping from the shore. There are small public gardens offering shade and seating areas along the 7km promenade. Facilities such as showers, sunbed hire, a children's pay area, bars, and restaurants are available. During the summer months it can be difficult to park a car close by the beach but there is parking for bikes.

Las Higuericas Beach is one of the longest of the Pilar de la Horadada's beaches measuring almost 1000m in length and up to 35m in width. It has a children’s play area on the sand and another play area in the water. Along the beach you will find a beautiful promenade with palm trees, which is perfect for both walking and cycling. The colour of sand at this beach serves as an example to understand the name of Costa Blanca.

Torre de la Horadada has an attractive coastline with seafront walks as well as a watch tower dating from the time when pirates sailed these seas. There are long, golden, sandy dune beaches at the southern end of the resort as well as a more secluded cove beach close to the towns main square. There is a clifftop terrace on the edge of the central plaza which has a number of cafes and bars that have fantastic views of the small marina and out to the beautiful blue waters of the Mediterranean.

Mil Palmeras is known for its sandy beaches and clean, clear water and is a typical Spanish seaside resort. It has all the usual amenities such as sun loungers, sun shades to rent, pedallos, jet skis, bars, volley ball, showers and toilets. The beach is considered to be one of the best beaches along the Orihuela Costa coastline with golden sand and the clean water of the Mediterranean Sea.

This is a stunning little horseshoe-shaped cove that gets busy with the locals at the height of the summer. The sandy beach sits amidst rocks, which makes it a great area for snorkeling. To access the beach, you pass through a tunnel at the Puerto de Santa Lucía. There are a good number of services including a children’s play area and an excellent bar and restaurant with some great seafood dishes.

The Playa de Paraíso is a beautiful stretch of golden, fine sandy beach, with clean water that only gets deep after about 100m. It is on the Mar Menor, an area of warm salty water with healing properties. Close to the salt lakes, this beach and the water around apparently help those suffering from arthritic joints, inflammation, and poor skin. The beach is excellent for families and offers a host of services, including watersports activities and places to eat and drink.

Calblanque is part of the Regional Park of Calblanque and is now a protected area. Nowadays, the number of visitors is limited; you either have to get there early, or late, or head down to the beach without a car. However, once you arrive you will see that this is one of the most unspoiled parts of the coast. The beach is surrounded by hills and impressive rock formations which is great for exploring. The sea is also a popular choice for scuba divers and snorkellers.

La Zenia beach is located close to a quiet residential area. The fine sandy white beach is bordered by a pleasant promenade. The beach, also known as the la Cala Bosque de Orihuela, is located north of the municipality of Orihuela. It is 360m long and approximately 115m wide, with a wide variety of services at hand. It has a team of lifeguards and a Red Cross post throughout the day in summer season, a beach bar and restaurants.

Playa Cala Capitán is one of the most beautiful beaches of the Costa Blanca. Cala Capitán is composed of fine, white sand and has two distinct swimming areas, a shallow calm bay which is very safe for children and a deeper area, more suitable for adults. Lifeguards are on duty during popular times and the beach bar (chiringuito) provides welcome refreshments. Cala Capitán gets crowded during July and August but you can generally find a spot as the beach stretches for some distance.

The beach is easy to get to with parking spaces only a few metres from the sand. Despite the small houses at the foot of the beach, it still preserves an unspoiled air. It has an open-air bar and restaurant. You can hire sunbeds, kayaks, pedalos and it’s a lovely size cove which is ideal for snorkelling.

This is one of Murcia’s urban beaches and is busy during the summer months. The village of La Azohía on the Costa Cálida still has an enchanting fishing village quality. The beach itself is only 800m long and 8m wide, but it’s an idyllic setting. The water here is crystal-clear and warm. This beach also provides visitors with numerous services and is therefore popular with families with young children.

With its quiet sheltered beach and relaxed atmosphere Playa de Bolnuevo suits families and couples seeking a peaceful location. It lies in front of a geological natural wonder of Las Gredas de Bolnuevo which is also known as Ciudad Encantada (Enchanted City). The heavily eroded sandstone formations have been sculpted into mushroom-like and almost vertical shapes by water and wind over thousands of years. You can park right under the rocky scenery and climb up the formations.

This spectacular little cove is only 150m long with 25m of golden sand. The water is bright turquoise and very shallow. Cala de los Cocederos is quite remote and people take the trouble to drive down the dusty lane to the car park just 50m from the sand. The area is sheltered from the wind and the waves, making it peaceful and calm. The surrounding rocks are all full of natural caves that used to be inhabited during the summer or used as shelter from the weather by fishermen.

The Playa de la Carolina, or de los Ingleses as some call it, is an extraordinary beach. It is actually a Protected Area of Natural Landscape, and from the sand you can see the city of Águilas and its castle. The surrounding rocks and dunes provide a natural barrier from the wind, which means that this beach is quite pleasant on a windy day. The water is very warm here and entering it during the summer is like taking a warm bath. There is a bar there and a restaurant, but very little else.
